Sizing:

When replacing your CPSC48 salt cell, take this opportunity to make sure it is sized correctly. Sizing your salt cell properly is key to making sure you will not need to supplement with additional chlorine or shock your pool, and also extends the lifespan of your cell. The industry recommends using a salt cell with a max capacity of 1.5-2 times the actual size of your pool (more is better). The CPSC48 is manufacturer rated for a maximum capacity of 48,000 gallons.

Compatibility:

This replacement salt cell for the CPSC48 is 100% compatible with original systems (no software/firmware issues). The CPSC48 cell has the same length, threading, and cable connection for direct replacement of original part JD363130E.

To get the most life out of your salt cell and to keep your pool running without unexpected interruptions, make sure it is sized correctly, maintain correct water balance, and be sure and inspect your cell at least every 3 months for leaks, debris, and calcium scale. Be sure to follow instructions in the product manual and clean the cell as often as the system indicates.

Q: Can a CSPC48 be compatible to the CSPC36 in other words can I use the CSPC48 to replace an CSPC36?

Asked by: Jerome Davis - 6/21/2023
A: If you originally have a CPSC36, the transformer inside your controller can power either a CPSC36 or a CPSC48. You will need to follow these instructions in order for the controller to send the right amount of power to the new cell: https://www.discountsaltpool.com/assets/doc/Selecting%20a%20new%20CPSC%20Cell%20Size.pdf
