The T-Cell-3 Turbo Cell replacement is compatible with the full line of salt pool systems from Hayward, such as the Goldline Aqua Rite, AquaRite Pro, AquaLogic, Pro Logic, SwimPure, Mineral Springs, NatureSoft, SplashCLEAR, AquaPlus, LeverEdge Guardian, Blue Essence and more. The T-Cell-3 Turbo salt cell is the factory original replacement cell model designed to easily drop in place and allow you to replace your old T-Cell-3 Turbo cell in minutes. This cell is made to meet or exceed original factory specs and has 100% guaranteed compatibility.

Replacing the T-Cell-3 Turbo cell will allow your salt chlorine generator to begin chlorinating again if your old T-Cell-3 Turbo salt cell has been depleted. The T-Cell-3 Turbo cell sanitizes your swimming pool in an eco-friendly and cost-efficient way, and also helps provide a luxurious swimming experience without the eye irritation and dry skin.


When replacing your T-Cell-3 Turbo salt cell, take this opportunity to make sure it is sized correctly. Sizing your salt cell properly is key to making sure you will not need to supplement with additional chlorine or shock your pool, and also extends the lifespan of your cell.The industry recommends using a salt cell with a max capacity of 1.5-2 times the actual size of your pool (more is better). The T-Cell-3 Turbo is manufacturer rated for a maximum capacity of 15,000 gallons.

Q: Is this cell compatible with the Hayward Aqua-trol RJ or the Hayward Aqua-trol HP controller?

A: You'll want to ensure that you currently use the T-Cell-3 size salt cell, or if you don't, ensure that you can change the "Cell Type" setting on your control box to the desired size of your new cell. Hayward's different size turbo cells are T-3, T-5, T-9, and T-15, which also might be written as GLX-3, GLX-5, GLX-9, and GLX-15 on your cell. Take a look at what you have to be sure.

Q: Does it included the power cord and 2 unions as pictured?

A: Yes, the power cord is included and permanently attached to the cell. While Hayward pictures the unions in their imagery for identification purposes, they do not include unions in the box with the cell, as it is meant to replace an existing cell and connect to existing unions without having to re-install. The unions are available as separate parts in both 2" and 1.5" sizes.

Q: I currently have a Hayward Aqua plus system 10,000 gallon pool- 10 years old with a t5 cell. I'm getting a low salt reading but salt test strips show a good reading. I believe I have 2 setting options t5 or t3. Can I assume that this would work? I don't seem to find t5 cells that indicate that they will work with Aqua Plus system

A: Yes, Hayward cells work with all of their associated products such as AquaRite, AquaPlus, AquaLogic, etc... as long as your system has the correct cell type, or can be changed to display the desired cell type. If your system displays T-3, that does correspond to these T-Cell-3 replacements. T-5 cells are unfortunately not available.

Q: Is this cell compatible with version 1.4 Aqua Rite controller??? Your description does not specify. All that I have found call for version 1.5

A: If you currently have a T-Cell-3, this is 100% compatible whatever the software revision in your system. If you don't have a T-Cell-3, you would not want to downgrade.

Q: what is a replacement for a hayward blue essence salt cell for pools up to 20000 gallons?

A: Hit the diagnostic button on your controller until you see what "cell type" you have (T-3, T9, etc...). This is what model cell you need. If you are looking for a complete new system instead of a replacement cell, you might take a look at many newer 20,000 gallon salt systems available.

A: The Hayward 940 is able to run Hayward's T3, T9, or T15 cells. Currently we are out of stock on the Hayward-branded cells. However, we offer several aftermarket cells that are compatible with the Hayward AquaRite,
