Sizing:

Making sure your salt cell is properly sanitized is key to making sure you will not ultimately have to spend more money on additional chlorine or shock for your pool and also can extend the lifespan of your cell. It’s worth taking the time while replacing your Hayward T Cell 15 Salt Turbo Cell to make sure that your salt cell is correctly sized.

Industry recommendations suggest purchasing a salt cell with a max capacity of at least 1.5-2 times the actual size of your pool, though it’s always wise to oversize. The Hayward T-Cell-15 Turbo Cell is manufacturer rated for a maximum capacity of 40,000 gallons.

Compatibility:

This replacement salt cell for the Hayward T-Cell-15 Turbo is 100% compatible with original systems (no software/firmware issues). The Hayward T Cell 15 Salt Turbo cell has the same length, threading, and cable connection for direct replacement. This T-Cell-15 Turbo Cell for Hayward is to be used with Aquarite and salt chlorination systems and is also compatible with Omni Automation systems.

To get the most life out of your salt cell and to keep your pool running without unexpected interruptions, make sure it is sized correctly, maintain correct water balance, and be sure and inspect your cell at least every 3 months for leaks, debris, and calcium scale.

Additionally, be sure to follow instructions in the product manual and clean the cell as often as the system indicates.

FAQ

Q: what is the difference between the Hayward Aquarite T-15 and the Hayward Aquarite Turbo T-15 Cell?

Asked by: rick - 5/31/2017
A: They are not different products, they are just two different ways of writing the name. Hayward/Goldline originally called their salt cells "turbo cells", and many people just shorten it now and drop the "turbo".

Q: Does it included the power cord and 2 unions as pictured?

Asked by: Chris - 4/27/2017
A: Yes, the power cord is included and permanently attached to the cell. While Hayward pictures the unions in their imagery for identification purposes, they do not include unions in the box with the cell, as it is meant to replace an existing cell and connect to existing unions without having to re-install. The unions are available as separate parts in both 2" and 1.5" sizes.

Q: Is the T-CELL-15 the same as the T-CELL-15-CUL and/or the T-CELL-15-SWP? Are the compatible?

Asked by: BP - 9/4/2018
A: Yes, anything that is the T-15 size will be a plug and play replacement (as opposed to smaller sizes like T-3 or T-9). Those other part numbers are just manufacturer variations for cable length or branding designation.

Q: When installing a Hayward T-cell 15 which way does it attach to the heat pump side, and which end attaches to the pump side? I assume it makes a difference? Thank you.

Asked by: ROD - 6/22/2018
A: There isn't necessarily an inlet or outlet to the cell - it works equally with water flowing through it either direction.

Q: if i currently have a t-9 cell can i replace it with a t 15 cell

Asked by: vinnq - 7/16/2020
A: Yes, a bigger cell is typically a better option and a better value. You would simply change the electronic controller's cell type setting: Hayward Cell Type Instructions
