A UV system is a supplemental form of sanitation for your pool that subjects your pool water to UV light. The UV system can reduce chemical demand and will inactivate microorganisms, ie.bacteria, viruses, and parasites - especially pathogens that are resistant to chlorination. This added sanitation greatly extends the life span of your system's salt cell. A key limitation to UV is that it provides no residual capacity to sanitize the water and so it can’t completely replace your salt chlorinator and act as the sole means of sanitizing your pool.

UV systems can be used on modern saltwater pools or traditional (chemical) chlorine pools.
