Solaxx UV1500A Nuvo Ultraviolet Water Sterilizer for Above Ground Pools. Ideal if you use a salt system or conventional chlorine to maintain your pool water, there are many micro-organisms that are chlorine-resistant or even immune to regular typical pool disinfection. But when pool water circulates through the NUVO Sterilization Chamber, harmful micro-organisms are eliminated - using the same process used to sterilize surgical instruments. The NUVO UV water Sterilizer is design to be used in addition to a salt chlorine generator or manual chlorination, and will instantly eliminate pathogens such as: E. coli, salmonella, staph and streptococcus, giardia cyst, cryptosporidium and many other chlorine resistant pathogens. When swimming pool water circulates through the NUVO ultra-violet chamber, your pool gets the highest level of safe, clean water - done in perfect safety for only pennies a month in energy use.

Questions From Customers

Q: Does it kill algae?

Asked by: Lucille - 1/23/2024
A: If you have an algae problem you should "shock" your pool to kill the algae and also treat for the phosphates that are feeding the algae.
UV systems can help kill algae that is in suspension and flowing through the UV sanitizer, but will not kill any that is adhering to pool surfaces.
Once you have shocked and killed your algae bloom, a UV system will assist your pool's chlorine in sanitizing the water and help keep you free from further outbreaks.
However to be clear, a UV system on its own will not eliminate an outbreak of algae in your pool.

Q: is this model large enough for a 1500 gallon above ground pool

Asked by: Elizabeth Batten - 5/2/2024
A: Yes, the Solaxx NUVO UV system can handle a 1,500 gallon pool. However, please understand that UV systems clean as they operate and there is no residual sanitation potential.
They work well with some method of chlorination with available, Free Chlorine on hand to sanitize the pool when it is not circulating through an active UV system.
UV by itself must run continuously or operate for multiple turnovers of the pool water before swimming.

Bear in mind, you will still need some form of sanitation with residual capacity like chlorine.

Q: will this work for a 10k gallon in ground pool?

Asked by: Ryan - 7/11/2024
A: The NUVO is rated for up to 15,000 gallons.

If you would like to consider greater sanitation capacity, the CMP Wave UV-C 50 is rated for up to 50,000 gallon pools.

Both models are a great supplemental way to minimize chlorine demand in the water.
