Better option
I paid 849 for my aquarite system a few years ago, so there was no way I was going to pay 899 for the replacement cell. After doing a lot of research and comparing options, I brought this v15 cell. It was delivered in 3 days, connected perfectly, and the system is generating and giving perfect readings again. In fact I had to turn down the chlorine output from it's previous setting, so I wonder if this is making more chlorine than the original.

Best price, works great
This easily replaced the old cell and began working immediately. The cloudiness that was starting to happen since the old cell died went away over night. This was the best price I could find anywhere.

Salt System
I've had mine over three years and keep it at 50% power, and the pool stays clear! Nothing much more to it.

First time buyer
bought a V15 replacement for my Hayward cell and it worked as expected. There was a very small issue when plugging into the board was the tab on the plug that I didnt see when installing. Once I moved it inline with. connector on the board, and reset to the correct configuration in the menu, it detected the salt ppm.

My Hayward 40,000 Gallon salt system stopped working and hence I was looking for a replacement. I found the Apex V15 for less than the Hayward cell and decided to give it a try. I wouldn't even call putting it in installation as it took 5 minutes to unscrew the old cell and put this one in its place. It took longer to cut and redo the zip ties that I use to route its cable to the controller. Everything was completely compatible and readings went back to being accurate so it could generate chlorine again. I have had it installed for about a week now, and the salt chlorinator generator has been working great and now my chlorine levels are back to where they need to be. So far its working well and I am happy with this purchase thus far.

Questions From Customers

Q: I see the 10,000 rated lifespan of the cell but have recenlty gotten a Jandy 2.7hp epump that I am running 20+ hours a day at low speed. I share because with my estimation that means that I will only see about a year and a quarter of life. So, the pro of running a pump as long as possible is the filtration but wouldn't it also produce a con of wearing out the cell faster. Just wanted to get thoughts on this situation.

Asked by: Matt A. - 7/11/2024
A: For long run times, you will naturally reduce the chlorine output of your system proportionately (otherwise you would greatly over-chlorinate your pool), so that reduces wear-and-tear. For further optimization, choosing a model which uses a "duty cycle" (switching the unit's chlorine generation on/off internally based on the output setting) should offer even more improvement on minimizing wear-and-tear for pools with long run times.

In other words, if you left it running at 100% for all day, yes that would maximize its wear - but if you're keeping your pool's balance on target and properly adjusting a properly-sized chlorine generator, it doesn't work out like that.

Q: We have 40 degree seawater will this unit work at 40 degrees???

Asked by: Wenable - 1/22/2019
A: To my knowledge, there isn't a salt chlorinator out there that's meant to work in such cold water. It's part of the physics/chemistry of the process. The flip side of that coin is that such cold pool water typically doesn't need much or possibly any chlorination. With such high salinity of seawater however (10x more than in a pool), that may play a role in counteracting the cold water. You might want to call and talk to someone since this sounds like a unusual situation.

Q: Should l leave my breeze Chlorinator on all the time and should it read positive or negative. I currently have it on at 50% and it reads (light on) + polarity?

Asked by: Todd - 4/28/2020
A: You should only leave it on for as long as your pool pump is running; on average that is 8-12 hours for most people, but it depends on your pool's needs. Adjust the percentage up or down according to how much your chlorine your pool needs (keep it between 1-3 ppm free chlorine). Polarity will alternate between + and - automatically, that's normal and there is no functional difference.

Q: the lights on the control panel are no longer working. could this be a major issue?

Asked by: Shantel Lutz - 10/12/2020
A: Be sure to check the unit's "Fuse Reset Button". If that built-in circuit breaker is not tripped, then unfortunately that could indicate a larger problem with the control module.

Q: I have a breeze 540 in a 42,000 gallon pool that does not create enough chlorine to maintain my pool. I’d like to upgrade to the 760. Will a 760 cell work w my 549 system? Will the 760 fit in the current 540 plumbing/housing?

Asked by: Steve Wardell - 5/18/2024
A: Though the cells all can use the same housing, as far as i know for units made the 760 used a different (larger) internal power supply. If you are looking for an upgrade, you might take a look at this item would require minimal plumbing: https://www.discountsaltpool.com/circupool-sj55a-salt-chlorine-generator
