The Solaxx SafeDip 6-in-1 Electronic Water Chemistry Tester is a user-friendly testing device that measures the six most frequently changing water chemistry levels: pH levels, free chlorine, salinity, TDS, ORP, and pool water temperature. Suitable for swimming pools, hot tubs, and spas, this digital tester offers a large easy-to-read LCD display, simple push-button operation, and commercial-grade sensor technology - that means it works quickly and you can be sure it is accurate. It is powered by 2x AAA batteries (not included), which are easy to replace.

The Solaxx SafeDip is durable, safe and accurate for both pool owners and pool professionals. This SafeDip contains a built-in sample cup which allows one to retrieve a water sample, re-attach the cup and test. Its water-resistant housing and a probe protector keeps the sensor electrodes safe when in storage and while taking readings. Best of all, there are no drops, color matching, nor strips to bother with. This tester gives you results in seconds for the chemistry levels you need to know, with only one simple test. The SafeDip also saves your previous chemistry measurement, so you can compare and be sure your pool water readings are consistently in proper balance.

Solaxx’s SafeDip digital water chemistry tester is the cost-effective and smart choice to read your pool water sample without a trip to the store and without having to manually interpret colors in complicated chemical tests. Over and over again, it will help you maintain your swimming pool with crystal clear water.

FAQ

Q: What are the specific tests performed by this tester. Or, what are the specifications for the tester? Are any chemicals needed for the testing other than the pool water being tested?

Asked by: Tom - 7/16/2017
A: This tester is electronic, so no other chemicals or reagents are required. It measures and displays the salt, chlorine, pH, ORP, and TDS levels, was well as the water temperature.

Q: How long does it take to test the water?

Asked by: Kathy - 8/16/2018
A: The tester will test all six readings one at a time and give you the results as it goes. How long it takes can vary a little bit depending on conditions, but usually it's about a minute or so. Pretty fast.

Q: Do you need to calibrate it. If so how you do it and how often? How accurate the readings are? Thank you

Asked by: Dominika - 10/20/2017
A: You can calibrate it if needed, here is a link:

I have found the readings to be pretty accurate when I compare it to my other test strips or pool store readings.

Q: There are times I notice the digital tester reads low chlorine, but a chemical test shows my CL is in range. What does this mean, is there a problem?

Asked by: Bob McAdams - 8/6/2020
A: The meter is reading the "effective" chlorine level in the water - its not the same exact measurement. So that likely means that while you may have a sufficient chemical level of free chlorine now, you are losing chlorine at a faster than normal rate. That's an important problem to know about, so that rather than keep chasing your tail by adding more chlorine, you fix what's causing high chlorine demand. Common things to check are CYA, phosphates, and nitrates.

Q: do you need any thing besides the apparatus? Like drops or test strips? can you just buy this and not need supplies?

Asked by: Marijane - 7/31/2018
A: This doesn't require any drops or strips, it gives you the readings digitally in just a moment. It tests pH, chlorine, salinity, TDS, ORP, and temperature (which are the things that typically get tested for most frequently). Solaxx does recommend calibrating it about once a month.
