The Resilience A5 Replacement Salt Cell CLG50A-010 (formerly SCC-25) for pools and spas up to 40,000 gallons
Power 1.38 lbs/day
Warranty 1 Year Limited
Max Capacity 40000 Gallons

The Resilience A5 / D5 replacement cell is compatible with chlorine generators from AquaBlue, Nexa Pure, Intermatic I-Pure, Frog Hybrid, Relaxx, ComfortChlor, AquaComfort, as well as older original SCC-25 Resilience chlorine generators. The Resilience A5 salt cell is the factory original replacement cell model designed to easily drop in place and allow you to replace your old Resilience A5 cell in minutes. This cell is made to meet or exceed original factory specs and has 100% guaranteed compatibility.

The Resilience A5 cell is manufactured by Solaxx, and features Resilience IBT (Independent Blade Technology). This A-Series salt cell is the replacement cell only - unions and collars are NOT included. You will utilize your current unions for fast easy installation during replacement; the cell is the same 14" length and has the original threads, so it will fit exactly in place between your existing couplers.

Replacing the Resilience A5 cell will allow your salt chlorine generator to begin chlorinating again if your old Resilience A5 salt cell has been depleted. The Resilience A3 cell sanitizes your swimming pool in an eco-friendly and cost-efficient way, and also helps provide a luxurious swimming experience without the eye irritation and dry skin.

Note: For existing Resilience control centers that are more than 10 years old, a transition wire assembly may be required: CLG30A-030 Quick Connect Adaptor Cable.

Sizing:

When replacing your Resilience A5 salt cell, take this opportunity to make sure it is sized correctly. Sizing your salt cell properly is key to making sure you will not need to supplement with additional chlorine or shock your pool, and also extends the lifespan of your cell. The industry recommends using a salt cell with a max capacity of 1.5-2 times the actual size of your pool (more is better). The Resilience A5 is manufacturer rated for a maximum capacity of 40,000 gallons.

Compatibility:

This replacement salt cell for the Resilience A5 is 100% compatible with original systems (no software/firmware issues). The Resilience A5 cell has the same length, threading, and cable connection for direct replacement.

To get the most life out of your salt cell and to keep your pool running without unexpected interruptions, make sure it is sized correctly, maintain correct water balance, and be sure and inspect your cell at least every 3 months for leaks, debris, and calcium scale. Be sure to follow instructions in the product manual and clean the cell as often as the system indicates.

Honest Handling of Error
I sought advice on whether or not an A7 salt cell could be substituted for an A5 cell and was told yes. Bought the A7 and then started looking into it. No, it could not be substituted. Called back and their rep acknowledged the error...sold me the A5...and sent label to send back the A7...and credited full price and shipping. All very fast. Polite and honest. No one can ask for more.

Don't buy this product
This is not original equipment from the manufacturer. It works at first, but upon the first cleaning (in dilute hydrochloric acid as the original instructions described), it no longer produced chlorine. The deposits cannot be cleaned using a brush in this design. I want my money back!

Questions From Customers

Q: Hi guys- I have an E5 salt cell- from and old pool frog system— it looks identical to the A5 resilience salt cell you have here! Same connections- everything except it has a yellow top and not blue.... would you happen to know if I can replace mine with your A5? I would hate to have to return it! I can send a picture if you would like and would love to replace ASAP! Thanks so much-! Jim

Asked by: Jim Garino - 3/21/2021

Q: what is average life of a D5 salt cell

Asked by: Terrence Tegreeny - 4/19/2023
A: Its ultimately going to be unique to the pool based on sizing, usage, maintenance, etc... but if the cell is older than 3-6 years and if you still have errors after you've troubleshot the basics (salt level, clean cell, the water isn't cold, tight cable connections, water filling the cell, etc...) that would be a common indication the cell is depleted.

Q: A5 cell. I noticed in the specs that it is self-cleaning. How is this obtained? It says reverse polarity. How do we do this?

Asked by: kenneth - 4/6/2023
A: Self-cleaning salt chlorinators reverse the polarity of the electric current through cell periodically throughout the day. This is done automatically by the salt chlorinator's controller, and is not something that needs to be managed.
