The Resilience A3 / D3 replacement cell is compatible with chlorine generators from AquaBlue, Nexa Pure, Intermatic I-Pure, Frog Hybrid, Relaxx, ComfortChlor, AquaComfort, as well as older original SCC-15 Resilience chlorine generators. The Resilience A3 salt cell is the factory original replacement cell model designed to easily drop in place and allow you to replace your old Resilience A3 cell in minutes. This cell is made to meet or exceed original factory specs and has 100% guaranteed compatibility.
The Resilience A3 cell is manufactured by Solaxx, and features Resilience IBT (Independent Blade Technology). This A-Series salt cell is the replacement cell only - unions and collars are NOT included. You will utilize your current unions for fast easy installation during replacement; the cell is the same 14" length and has the original threads, so it will fit exactly in place between your existing couplers.
Replacing the Resilience A3 cell will allow your salt chlorine generator to begin chlorinating again if your old Resilience A3 salt cell has been depleted. The Resilience A3 cell sanitizes your swimming pool in an eco-friendly and cost-efficient way, and also helps provide a luxurious swimming experience without the eye irritation and dry skin.
Note: For existing Resilience control centers that are more than 10 years old, a transition wire assembly may be required: CLG30A-030 Quick Connect Adaptor Cable.
Sizing:
When replacing your Resilience A3 salt cell, take this opportunity to make sure it is sized correctly. Sizing your salt cell properly is key to making sure you will not need to supplement with additional chlorine or shock your pool, and also extends the lifespan of your cell. The industry recommends using a salt cell with a max capacity of 1.5-2 times the actual size of your pool (more is better). The Resilience A3 is manufacturer rated for a maximum capacity of 18,000 gallons.
Compatibility:
This replacement salt cell for the Resilience A3 is 100% compatible with original systems (no software/firmware issues). The Resilience A3 cell has the same length, threading, and cable connection for direct replacement.
To get the most life out of your salt cell and to keep your pool running without unexpected interruptions, make sure it is sized correctly, maintain correct water balance, and be sure and inspect your cell at least every 3 months for leaks, debris, and calcium scale. Be sure to follow instructions in the product manual and clean the cell as often as the system indicates.
General FAQ
If your salt cell needs to be replaced, you probably have a problem with low chlorine, but if your chlorine level is a problem then the cell is only one of several possible issues, notably including excessive chlorine demand. Essentially, you have either a system problem or a water problem.
System problems will generally reveal themselves with error messages or warning lights on the control module. The typical indications of the cell needing replacement will be one or both of the following: Low Salt warnings that are present with correct salinity and Check/Clean Cell warnings that display when the cell is verifiably clean.
If you are referring to buying the same brand, there’s no question that the original OEM salt cell is exactly what your system was designed to use. However, commonly there are aftermarket replacement cells available which fit into place and operate quite satisfactorily. It is your prerogative to employ one of these aftermarket replacements if you are satisfied with the specifications, price warranty, and reported compatibility.
If you were asking about buying the same capacity cell, then OEM or aftermarket alike, you need to first determine whether your control or power module can accommodate a different size. Assuming you can change sizes, a larger cell is virtually always a good choice. However, in downsizing, make sure the smaller cell is still sufficiently large to maintain 1.5-2 times sizing of the cell relative to the pool’s volume.
