The CPSC16 replacement cell is compatible with CompuPool CPSC16 and CPA salt chlorine generators. This CPSC16 salt cell is the generic replacement cell model designed to easily drop in place and allow you to replace your old CPSC16 cell in minutes. Not made by Compu Pool, this cell is made to meet or exceed original factory specs and has 100% guaranteed compatibility.

Replacing the CPSC16 cell will allow your salt chlorine generator to begin chlorinating again if your old CPSC16 salt cell has been depleted. The CPSC16 cell sanitizes your swimming pool in an eco-friendly and cost-efficient way, and also helps provide a luxurious swimming experience without the eye irritation and dry skin.

Sizing:

When replacing your CPSC16 salt cell, take this opportunity to make sure it is sized correctly. Sizing your salt cell properly is key to making sure you will not need to supplement with additional chlorine or shock your pool, and also extends the lifespan of your cell. The industry recommends using a salt cell with a max capacity of 1.5-2 times the actual size of your pool (more is better). The CPSC16 is manufacturer rated for a maximum capacity of 16,000 gallons.

Compatibility:

This replacement salt cell for the CPSC16 is 100% compatible with original systems (no software/firmware issues). The CPSC16 cell has the same length, threading, and cable connection for direct replacement of original part JD363130B.

To get the most life out of your salt cell and to keep your pool running without unexpected interruptions, make sure it is sized correctly, maintain correct water balance, and be sure and inspect your cell at least every 3 months for leaks, debris, and calcium scale. Be sure to follow instructions in the product manual and clean the cell as often as the system indicates.

FAQ

Q: Are there directions for replacing the cell? My unit is about 4 years old and I am guessing I need to replace the cell. The cell doesn't appear to be exactly like the one I currently have. Any help is appreciated.

Asked by: Wayne Parker - 5/29/2017
A: Yes, absolutely, instructions are included. This is just like what you have, it is just pictured without the clear casings that go around it. You can unscrew your old cell from its existing clear housing, slide it out, slide this new one in, and retighten its connection. That is all it takes.

Q: Not sure which cell number is correct for our pool. Does the cpsc 16, 24 or 36 have to do with the gallon size of the pool?

Asked by: Dale - 7/1/2018
A: If you don't know which model your existing system is, you can just count the number of titanium plates - it will have 4, 5, 7, or 10, which corresponds to the different size models (16, 24, 36, 48). You typically need to stay with the same model, because the there are different CPSC controllers that power different size cells.

Q: Can I replace a cpsc24 with a cpsc16 cell? My pool is small and is close to 8k gallons.

Asked by: Richard W Stillwell - 5/31/2021
A: Yes, but "over-sizing" is the industry standard way to size salt chlorinators. Bigger is better: https://www.discountsaltpool.com/What-Size-Salt-Pool-System-Is-Right-For-Me

Q: My cell is model COCF16-2 with four plates. Will the CPCS16 be it’s replacement?

Asked by: Andy - 4/4/2022
A: I haven't heard of that SKU before, but Compu Pool made many similarly labelled products. If your Compu Pool cell looks the same and has 4-plates, it is going to be equivalent.

Q: I have a CPSC-15 can I use the CPSC-16 unit as a replacement?

Asked by: Hardcharger - 5/10/2023
A: I've never seen or heard of a "15", but if it is a Compu Pool CPSC series and it has four titanium blades this item would be the cell for it.
