The Pentair iChlor30 electronic chlorine generator is a salt pool system with integrated controls and cell. The salt chlorinator works with existing pump and filtration systems to reliably supply the swimming pool with pure chlorine, every day. It uses ordinary salt to generate the chlorine your pool needs and helps create softer, silkier pool water. The iChlor (or i-chlor) is the latest salt chlorinator model from Pentair to help make it easy to maintain a sparkling clean pool. Max capacity: 30,000 gallons.

The complete Pentair iChlor salt system has two main components: the Power Supply Unit and the Electrolytic Cell (with built-in electronic controls), along with its miscellaneous hardware and documentation.

  • 2nd-Generation system, combining a compact shape with a digital control screen.
  • Connects to Pentair EasyTouch, IntelliTouch, and ScreenLogic2 (available for additional purchase) for SmartSense™ features.
  • Detects pump activity to using integrated flow switch.
  • Adjusts settings in small increments.

Pentair "Trade Grade" models are restricted by the manufacturer so that pricing, extended warranty, or direct purchase is not available online.

Q: Is there a spool piece that will replace the Pentair ICOR 30, if you want to remove it to clean or for the winter months. It looks like it should be about 7-1/2" long?

Asked by: Alan - 12/28/2019
A: No not normally, however if you used adapters to install it in place of an old intellichlor model could you use the available bypass cell for it.

Q: The Ichor salt generator has already been replaced once since the pool was completed February 2021. The new has now pooped out. They only last about 3 months. Can you explain and it should it be still under warranty?

Asked by: PHicks - 12/18/2021
A: That seems especially short lived. First make sure of the basics - in many instances it is just a issue of mineral scaling in the cell, low salt, or low water temperature. In general though, a salt cell will only be able to make a certain amount of chlorine over its lifespan. If the system is undersized for the pool, it will get more wear & tear and get used up more quickly. However on average for the industry, most properly sized and maintained salt chlorinator models can last anywhere from 3-10 years.
