A: This pool pump can work independently of any other equipment. If you're a pool owner that has a Hayward filter or salt chlorinator, you should have no issue using this pool pump.

Q: Will the: Pentair® IntelliFlo Variable Speed Pump (220 Volts) run on DC as well as AC such as a battery backup system?

A: To my knowledge, the motors on pool pumps specifically require an AC power source. To use DC, it would have to be a specialized piece of equipment. Here is a recent discussion that is related:

Q: I have a Pentair 7-177451-03 1 1/2 HP 208-230 Volt pump with 3450 RPM pump. Could I replace it with the 3 HP intelliFLO VS+ Variable Speed Pump?

Q: I need to replace my Hayward TriStar VS 900 1.87 hp. I am interested in switching to Pentair. My pool has been offline for 6 days and the only available local Pentair is the Intelliflo 3 hp. I know this might be overkill but, is there any reason not to use a bigger motor?

Q: I want to replace a defective Pentair 011018 pool pump with a new 011028. I have an Easy Touch Control System. Single pump. My question is: what, if any, settings do I need to do on the -028 control panel? Is just hooking up the RS-485 com cable enough so the -028 will recognize the Easy Touch and behave just as the —018 did?
