The IC60 salt cell is the factory original replacement cell for the Pentair Intellichlor, allowing you to replace your old salt cell in minutes by easily dropping the new IC60 cell directly in place. This cell is made to meet or exceed original factory specs and has 100% guaranteed compatibility.

Replacing the IC60 cell will allow your salt chlorine generator to begin chlorinating again if your old IC60 salt cell has been depleted. The IC60 cell sanitizes your swimming pool in an eco-friendly and cost-efficient way, and also helps provide a luxurious swimming experience without the eye irritation and dry skin. Monitoring chlorine production is easy with the IntelliChlor generator. It’s the only one with all controls and displays built into the cell. Just select from one of five sanitizing levels to easily manage chlorine addition.

Sizing:

When replacing your Intellichlor salt cell, take this opportunity to make sure it is sized correctly for your pool. Sizing your salt cell properly is key to making sure you will not need to supplement with additional chlorine or shock your pool, and also extends the lifespan of your cell. The industry recommends using a salt cell with a max capacity of 1.5-2 times the actual size of your pool (more is better). The IC60 is manufacturer rated for a maximum capacity of 60,000 gallons.

Compatibility:

This replacement salt cell for the IC60 is 100% compatible with all Intellichlor Power Centers (no software/firmware issues). The IC60 cell has the same length, threading, and cable connection for direct replacement.

To get the most life out of your salt cell and to keep your pool running without unexpected interruptions, make sure it is sized correctly, maintain correct water balance, and be sure and inspect your cell at least every 3 months for leaks, debris, and calcium scale. Be sure to follow instructions in the product manual and clean the cell as often as the system indicates.

FAQ

Q: I am thinking of replacing my Pentair IC40 SG with a Pentair IC60 SG. My pool is about 33,000 gal, and the IC40 has stopped making chlorine. Are the two parts interchangeable? Can I just plug the IC60 into the existing power supply for the IC40? And is the length of the IC60 the same as the length of the IC40? I do not want to change the piping unless absolutely necessary, as I want to do the installation myself.

Asked by: Dick - 9/10/2018
A: Yes, there is not a different power module so you could upgrade to the IC60 cell. You might also want to take the opportunity to compare some of the other systems on sale right now - you might find a better way to upgrade, and there are adapter kits that let you easily do the install: https://www.discountsaltpool.com/Best-Salt-System-Sales-Rebates-Deals-and-Promotions

Q: I have a ic40 can i use power cord off the ic40 for this ic 60 or does it come with a power cord?

Asked by: marvin - 5/2/2018
A: The cell actually comes with a power cord, so you would just disconnect the old cell’s cord from your power center, and hook the new one up the same way.

Q: I just bought the IC60 a year and a half ago and there seems to be a problem that it is not working. I was told that it is only good for 5 years. Is that true? And now this seems to be not working. How would I test it to see?

Asked by: Irene G - 7/11/2020
A: I've never heard of this cell having that long of a warranty. You'll want to double check your pool's salinity level and thoroughly clean the cell with its acid solution according to the manual. That helps most issues if the cell is not depleted.

Q: do I have to boost my clorimator when clorime level is low or do I shock

Asked by: Mary - 6/29/2021
A: Ideally, if your salt chlorinator is sized right, you would just raise it's chlorine output setting as needed if you find the pool's chlorine level low.
