FAQ

Q: Is this kit anything special to pool plumbing? Or can I use PVC Primer and Glue from Home Depot, Lowes, or local plumbing supply store? Are there any particular specs or requirements for the glue?

Asked by: Scott - 5/21/2019
A: You can absolutely use those items if you already have them from the hardware store, pool plumbing PVC is a standard material. This kit just gives you all the exact items you need when the equipment is delivered at the same price. One of the most important requirements for the glue is a "medium-body" so that you are sure to get a fully bonded glue joint. Call us if you have more questions: 866-766-5243

Q: Would I need an install kit to replace a Hayward gold line system? Does the flow switch fit the existing connection?

Asked by: Rodney - 4/17/2019
A: If you're replacing it with a system like the Universal40, then you likely wouldn't need the Installation Kit since the UL40 is a "drop-in" replacement. The cell and flow switch fit in the existing connections.

Q: Does the direction of the water flowing into the cell matter?

Asked by: Henry G Martinez - 5/26/2021
A: That will depend on the model of salt system you are referring to. Some systems no, but some systems will have an arrow or otherwise mark on the cell the direction it must be. The manual for your model would best be able to answer that.

Asked by: Roberto - 7/21/2021
A: The manufacturer is always the ultimate authority in compatibility, but pool solar systems are commonly used without issue.

Q: Would a gas pool heater impact the efficiency of the salt?

Asked by: Julie - 10/22/2021
A: It is very common to have a both a gas heater and salt chlorinator installed. The salt chlorinator is installed after the heater and they don't impact each other.

Q: I have an existing old school Hayward chlorinator (the kind you put tablets in). It looks like the Circupool 35 would fit right in that same spot if I took the Hayward chlorinator out. Do you know if that is the same length, where the new Circupool would fit in that same spot?

Asked by: Brad - 11/17/2022
A: You might be looking at the CORE35 salt chlorinator. It is very compact, but it is not exactly the same length/threads as your current tablet chlorinator (it would not screw on the the existing fittings). The typical installation does usually mean that you put it in the same place in your pool system, so you would basically just cut out the tablet chlorinator and plumb the salt chlorinator in.
