A common sight on newly-built backyard swimming pools, the Hayward Aqua Rite electronic chlorine generator is a convenient alternative to traditional chlorination. The Aqua Rite is a NSF certified salt chlorinator which works with existing pump and filtration systems to reliably supply the swimming pool with pure chlorine, every day. Hayward salt generator uses a low salt level and makes the pool water silky soft to provide the ultimate swimming experience.

The complete Hayward Aqua Rite salt system has three main components: the Control Box, the TurboCell (electrolytic salt cell), and the Flow Switch, along with its miscellaneous hardware and documentation.  Hayward offers three different size Aqua Rites for "right-size" chlorination, T-Cell-3 (15,000 gallons), T-Cell-9 (25,000 gallons), and T-Cell-15 (40,000 gallons).

The Aqua Rite is manufactured by one of the largest providers of swimming pool equipment, and is also know under the popular names Swim Pure Plus, Mineral Springs, Goldline Aquarite, NatureSoft, SplashCLEAR, AquaPlus, Blue Essence, and more. As a pool builder grade system, it has become one of the most widely-known salt systems available since it is the default choice for many pool stores as well as pool construction and service companies.

Q: My AQR X296 goldline chlorine generator needs to be calibrated. I know my salt should measure 2800, but the readout is 1800. How do I solve this?

Asked by: Timothy W Johnson - 4/17/2020
A: Make sure you have thoroughly cleaned your cell and independently measured your salinity. You can try these instructions: https://www.discountsaltpool.com/assets/doc/aquarite-consumer-troubleshooting-guide.pdf. If it goes back to the low reading at that point, it likely is depleted and needs replacement

Q: where do I add the salt

Asked by: Jerry Bryant - 6/29/2020
A: Salt gets added directly into the pool when you first install the system. It all dissolves and is constantly recycled by the system, it doesn't get used up.

Q: Is this suitable for an in ground hot tub with dedicated pump and filter?

Asked by: MemphisONE - 7/25/2021
A: You may want a smaller spa-model salt chlorinator depending on the size of the hot tub. A small pool-size salt chlorinator can work, depending on the plumbing, but it may be easy to over-chlorinate the pool. You can turn it down and run it less at that point, but you would have to balance its operation.
