Replacing too many boards to recommend again
When its working its fine, but the circuit board went out after a year and even though hayward covered it it still cost me a 100 for the service call. A year later now it was great the whole summer and now the board has gone out again I'm not dealing with the warranty system again.

Bad cheap part
My experience with these Aquarite system is that they break often and cost and arm and leg to repair. The electronic board (PCB) has a thermistor that burnout very frequently and although this part cost less than 10$ most technician will replace the board for more than $300 rather than just the thermistor. Also my control display panel needed to be replace all of this in less than 3 years

working great but why no power cord
working great now that it is installed. my only question is doesn't it come with a power cord? at first i thought i got a refurbished unit but then they explained to me the manufacturer does not include a power cord, that added a couple hours and some confusion at the hardware store to get this installed. like i said though, working great now

Hard set up
I had to hire guy to install it, and I was out there with him and ended up even needing to help him. We had to knock a hole in the side of the metal control box and run a power wire to it, which seems dumb to have to do at all, because of course it needs a power wire. The display screen was a little bit of a let down and also hard to use. The salt level isn't the same as what the pool store reads, but it seems to be working ok at this point.

Aqua Rite
Running about a month and it looks good at this point. Still learning how to adjust it and read the screen. Seems to be doing what it said it would. Installation would have been easier if the manual was a little clearer

Questions From Customers

Q: When using a variable speed pump do you have to install the salt cell upside down?

Asked by: Peter Renick - 4/11/2019
A: The Aquarite manual does call for that. I ultimately depends on your water flow. Since the Aquarite cell is not clear and you can't see if you are having that issue or not (the system will just keep reading low salt/check cell), it's good to install it upside down to help prevent problems.

Q: What size pump would be best to run the T-15 salt water generator?

Asked by: Peter - 6/12/2017
A: The pool size is going to be the determining factor for you, a saltwater chlorine generator can typically work with whatever pump you use (as long as it is appropriately sized for your pool). A salt system usually just needs a minimum flow of about 25 gallons per minute (which is very low, most low-flow variable speed pumps don't even go down that low).

Q: For a first time salt user at start up, before I install this unit when should I add the salt to the pool ?

Asked by: Bill - 5/3/2017
A: You can add the salt really at any time before you install the unit. It will take at least 24 hours for the salt to dissolve, so give it at least that much time before you turn the equipment on for the first time.

Q: WHAT IS THE AVERAGE LIFE OF THE CELL ?

Asked by: MO - 2/1/2019
A: The main thing that affects lifespan is how you use your pool and run your equipment. Hayward rates their systems for 10,000 hours of use and has a 3 year limited warranty. Based on experiences out there, actual lifespan may be a little more or less than that.

Q: hayward salt chlorine generator the green light does not come on?

Asked by: brian - 5/16/2017
A: It is possible that the fuse inside your control box is blown. If after replacing the fuse you still don't have LED lights showing correctly, and if you have checked that it is correctly hooked up to power, then it is possible that the electronics are damaged inside the AquaRite control box.

Q: the people who swim in pool say they taste salt but the aqr say check cell, flashes red and amber. what do I need to do to correct this?

Asked by: thourod - 7/2/2018
A: If you actually do have a good salt level, a clean cell, and adequate water flow, and you are still getting a warning light, then that typically indicates the cell is reaching the end of its lifespan and can be replaced.

Q: Does the warranty from manufacturer come with this purchase from your company?

Asked by: Bob - 3/5/2019
A: Yes of course, this item comes with the manufacturer warranty. Hayward does specify in their printed materials that you must use a paid installation service to get the complete warranty on their system. While some other brands also require professional installation, many do not and you can see that information under the "Warranty" tab as well as the "Complete Specs" tab on the product page.

The Hayward Aqua Rite controls are a steel sheet-metal box with a hinged and latching door (similar to your circuit-breaker panel). It mounts on the wall (or nearby a post or support) by hanging the control box by a few keyholes on basic screws that have been secured in the wall. Inside of the Control Center door, there is a small LCD display screen (similar to a digital watch), which displays the average salinity reading, temperature, cell volts, cell current, chosen percentage chlorine output, instantaneous salinity, and different cell type settings. The controls have a dial that is used to raise and lower chlorine output, and a three-position switch to activate the system, deactivate the system, or activate the super chlorination mode.

Note: Hayward does not include a power cord or other needed connectors, grommets, or accessories with which to the control box is to be wired to your power supply.

The Hayward Aqua Rite TurboCell is an inline opaque-plastic housing which contains built-in titanium electrode plates and built-in power supply cord. The AquaRite salt cell has threaded connections on the inlet and outlet, which allow quick access for service or winter removal (if applicable). The threaded connections attach to 2" unions which are glued to the existing return-line PVC plumbing.
The Hayward Aqua Rite includes with it two 2" Threaded Unions, Flow Switch, and Instruction Manual.

Note: The manufacturer does not include a power cord with the Hayward Aqua Rite. The wiring harness will need to be purchased from a local hardware supply.
