When using a regular-size saltwater pool system isn't an option, the MegaChlor chlorine generator is designed to be a very easy to install and does not interfere with the current plumbing or electronics: simply add salt, place in the water, and turn it on. The control unit plugs into a standard 110v GFCI outlet and attaches to the spa's skirt or nearby support in minutes.

The MegaChlor is plug-and-play! However, if you're looking for a concealed installation, the MegaChlor Inline option allows the system to be connected to your existing pump/filter system and remain out of sight. Important: inline operation should be used with continuous pump operation or where power can be coordinated to turn pump and salt system on and off together. The MegaChlor Inline option utilizes 2" Schedule 40 FPT PVC connectors, which can also be adapted as needed for virtually any plumbing type using off-the-shelf hardware. The MegaChlor can also be utilized as a hot tub and spa saltwater bromine generator, for spas that currently use manual bromine sanitation

These saltwater chlorine generator systems come with everything you need except salt, PVC glue, primer, a saw, and a few common tools.
In addition to adding salt to your pool water, installation entails adding one new piece of equipment to your pool. This can be performed by a handyman, plumber, electrician, pool contractor or Do-It-Yourself (DIY).

The simple, industry-wide, rule-of-thumb is that your salt system should be sized at 1.5 times your pool size, or more, for the temperate and colder parts of the US.
If you live in the southern sunbelt, then you should select a system with specs of at least 2 times your pool size.
Bear in mind that an undersized system will be a constant challenge, at best, while an oversized system will extend cell life and give you reserve capacity for weather events and periods of heavy use.

The MegaChlor control panel is a small unit that can easily be mounted to the side of the spa or a attached to a nearby support. Its controls have three buttons for adjusting the chlorine or bromine production, and four indicator lights that let you know when it is generating or when you might need to check the cell. For power, the controls simply require a standard GFCI outlet.
The control panel has two power adjustment buttons to control the amount of sanitation, and one button to activate its boost mode. Its LED indicators let you know what power setting you have it on and if your salinity level is low, OK, or high.
ControlOMatic also makes kits available to allow concealed installation of the power supply (manufacturer part: CM-PS-HIDE).
The MegaChlor Cell simply drapes over the side of the hot tub into the water when you desire active spa sanitation, the spa doesn't even have to be on or running! The clear cell lets you see it working and allows for easy inspection.
The Cell can also be installed out-of-sight directly into the spa's filter area when appropriate (see manufacturer recommendations) using the optional kit (manufacturer part: CM-CELL-HIDE).
