FAQ

Q: What is the difference between the CircuPool EDGE-40 or the CircuPool RJ-45? I have a 26,000 gal in ground salt water pool with a Pentair IC40 that is fast approaching its life expectancy and would like to replace it with a quality product that will last longer and provide better service.

Asked by: Scott - 5/20/2019
A: Both would be an excellent option to upgrade to. The main differences would be that the EDGE40 is the latest model that will give you the most modern streamlined system with more warranty protection, more features that make it easier to use, a more compact design, plus all the benefits of the RJ45 like powerful chlorine output and long lifespan cells.

Q: I know the Core is designed to be plugged into an outlet. Where I am mounting my Edge40 I have 120V off the same power source as the pump, any disadvantage to not using 220V off the pump breaker? Its a variable speed pump and I never turn the breaker off anyway

Asked by: Mark Ayash - 3/9/2020
A: There is no performance difference if the system uses 110 or 220. The EDGE also can auto-convert the voltage, so you don't need to reconfigure anything on the unit.

Q: How many amps does this draw?

Asked by: me - 10/29/2019
A: It only pulls about 2A. Salt systems are designed to run on the same circuit as a pump; they are low power usage.

Q: Where would I connect edge 40 power to on a variable speed intelliflo pump that has internal timer?

Asked by: Kevin - 3/29/2020
A: The best way to coordinate any salt system with a programmable variable speed pump is to power it with an external timer which is set to run at the same times as your pump's internal timer. Additionally, the system utilizes a flow switch which synchronizes its operation with the water starting & stopping; if there is no way to use an external timer, the flow switch ensures that the salt system only runs with the water running.

Q: Can the edge 40 be used on a 30ft above ground pool?

Asked by: Donald R Salvail - 2/17/2020
A: If your pool is about 4.5' deep, that would likely put you at about 24,000 gallons. The EDGE40 should be a great choice for your size pool. It can work on both in ground and above ground pools.

Q: I have an Aquqlink 2.0 system. the power to the pump is linked thru low voltage for operation. How do I install to operate with this system .

Asked by: Dan - 5/11/2020
A: If you just directly hook this system to power, its included "flow switch" activates/deactivates it when your pump starts/stops.

Q: I have a Jandy 1400 would this be a direct replacement or would I need to do some plumbing?

Asked by: Kevin - 5/25/2020
A: Unfortunately, nothing is the same length or has the same threads as a Jandy Aquapure. You would want to cut it out and plumb the new system in.
