CircuPool EDGE-25 Salt Chlorine Generator
The Generator has been installed and working for approx. a month. It was installed in a 8600 gal New Fiberglass pool. I set it to 50% and yesterday had the water tested by a pool supply store. Both the FAC and TAC were reading 5ppm. A great result in this very hot and sunny Texas month. I only required to add some conditioner which I expected as it wasn't added when the pool was filled. So far I am delighted with the simplicity of the system. The flow switch ensures that it is only generating when the pump is running. I am hoping for a long life from this system. My guests love the water quality and perfect clarity.

combo'd it with ozone system
yes i would definitely recommend. put this in with an ozone system and the water has never been nicer in the pool. i have a 20x40 gunite pool and it keeps the cl between 1 and 2 with only 8 hrs of running my challenger pump. i like seeing the ozone and cl in the cell, very easy to know its working when i've checked on it.

Great Generator
I cut old system out put this in line with one 2inch extra pipe approx 6 inches in legnth, and two couplings. Took me approx 39 min because of space. Then electronics were plug and play to system, an hard wire power direct. I recommend the UV system also, for absolute crystal clear water. Aftee two days I checked the water and it was perfect. No need to get technical, because Circupool has there systems perfected. Personally I believe they are the best currentmy in the pool industry. If you are in SC look to Lee OnAWhim For your Circupool needs.

Finally, an alternative.
After 20+ years of running product Z's built-for-obsolescence salt generators, I threw in the proverbial towel and went searching for a better alternative to replacing an expensive cell every year or so. Enter CircuPool. I asked a few questions on their site tech support and every question was promptly answered by a real person with a name! Wonderful start! So for a little more than yet another cell replacement, I purchased an Edge45. Replacement was a little tricky, since the Edge curiously doesn't come with the 16' cords I was used to. The Edge has 8' cords for the flow sensor and cell power, and a 3' main power cord (not a problem there). Hook up into my automation circuit box was a snap with an electrician's guidance (I'm a retired pool pro). From there, I rerouted my return line to accommodate the 8' reach of the Edge cords. The Edge flow sensor and cell comes with handy connector ports that you just plug the terminals on the cord into. It's a little puzzling why Circupool doesn't offer an similarly connection-terminal equipped extension cord as an option - it would seem to make to sense to me and open up the usage to many who's equipment is situated away from the electric source. The unit functions perfectly so far, we'll see how long the 7 year limited warranty cell lasts, but that is a hefty warranty for this type of product. The electronics are touted as advanced technology and the compact power box reflects that claim. No more interface with the automation display, but also, no more General Fault indications! I highly recommend this easily available product as a much-needed alternative to the Big 3 systems and their limited distribution policies. If this works out, I'll be back for the Ph controller! Summary: 4 stars for a limited length power cord that should be an easy fix. 5 stars for the excellent customer support and otherwise product design, which includes a see-through cell and cell-cleaning cap.

Awesome equipment
I had to replace my salt generator system. I was confused about what brand to buy and what will get the job done. I purchased the CircuPool Edge 40. WOW, my pool has never looked so good and it keeps up with the elements. After talking with Don (I think that was his name) I bought a system that was rated for double the pool size due to being in Florida. My old system wasn't able to keep up. I keep this unit running at 3 of the eight settings and the chlorine is steady at a 5. Beautiful water, easy install & works like it should. Don't hesitate, buy it now. it is the best.

Questions From Customers

Q: What is the difference between the CircuPool EDGE-40 or the CircuPool RJ-45? I have a 26,000 gal in ground salt water pool with a Pentair IC40 that is fast approaching its life expectancy and would like to replace it with a quality product that will last longer and provide better service.

Asked by: Scott - 5/20/2019
A: Both would be an excellent option to upgrade to. The main differences would be that the EDGE40 is the latest model that will give you the most modern streamlined system with more warranty protection, more features that make it easier to use, a more compact design, plus all the benefits of the RJ45 like powerful chlorine output and long lifespan cells.

Q: I know the Core is designed to be plugged into an outlet. Where I am mounting my Edge40 I have 120V off the same power source as the pump, any disadvantage to not using 220V off the pump breaker? Its a variable speed pump and I never turn the breaker off anyway

Asked by: Mark Ayash - 3/9/2020
A: There is no performance difference if the system uses 110 or 220. The EDGE also can auto-convert the voltage, so you don't need to reconfigure anything on the unit.

Q: Where would I connect edge 40 power to on a variable speed intelliflo pump that has internal timer?

Asked by: Kevin - 3/29/2020
A: The best way to coordinate any salt system with a programmable variable speed pump is to power it with an external timer which is set to run at the same times as your pump's internal timer. Additionally, the system utilizes a flow switch which synchronizes its operation with the water starting & stopping; if there is no way to use an external timer, the flow switch ensures that the salt system only runs with the water running.

Q: How many amps does this draw?

Asked by: me - 10/29/2019
A: It only pulls about 2A. Salt systems are designed to run on the same circuit as a pump; they are low power usage.

Asked by: Peter - 7/8/2019

Q: Can the edge 40 be used on a 30ft above ground pool?

Asked by: Donald R Salvail - 2/17/2020
A: If your pool is about 4.5' deep, that would likely put you at about 24,000 gallons. The EDGE40 should be a great choice for your size pool. It can work on both in ground and above ground pools.

Q: I have an Aquqlink 2.0 system. the power to the pump is linked thru low voltage for operation. How do I install to operate with this system .

Asked by: Dan - 5/11/2020
A: If you just directly hook this system to power, its included "flow switch" activates/deactivates it when your pump starts/stops.

Q: Just bought the edge 40 and the control module has bare ends for the power source. My pool doe not have a timer but I do have an outlet next to my pump. Can I wire this to use a plug for the out?

Asked by: Ben - 3/11/2022
A: As the manual says, its dual voltage do it can work on 110. The wiring section talks about how it needs to be on the same circuit as the pump. If you just leave your pump plugged in and running, then that's the same basically. However, if you don't turn your pump on and off with a timer, I'd highly recommend spending the small $ to set that up for the convenience and energy savings.
