General FAQ
These saltwater chlorine generator systems come with everything you need except salt, PVC glue, primer, a saw, and a few common tools.
In addition to adding salt to your pool water, installation entails adding one new piece of equipment to your pool. This can be performed by a handyman, plumber, electrician, pool contractor or Do-It-Yourself (DIY).
If you are contemplating installation, read more here.
The simple, industry-wide, rule-of-thumb is that your salt system should be sized at 1.5 times your pool size, or more, for the temperate and colder parts of the US.
If you live in the southern sunbelt, then you should select a system with specs of at least 2 times your pool size.
Bear in mind that an undersized system will be a constant challenge, at best, while an oversized system will extend cell life and give you reserve capacity for weather events and periods of heavy use.

Finally, an alternative.
After 20+ years of running product Z's built-for-obsolescence salt generators, I threw in the proverbial towel and went searching for a better alternative to replacing an expensive cell every year or so. Enter CircuPool. I asked a few questions on their site tech support and every question was promptly answered by a real person with a name! Wonderful start! So for a little more than yet another cell replacement, I purchased an Edge45. Replacement was a little tricky, since the Edge curiously doesn't come with the 16' cords I was used to. The Edge has 8' cords for the flow sensor and cell power, and a 3' main power cord (not a problem there). Hook up into my automation circuit box was a snap with an electrician's guidance (I'm a retired pool pro). From there, I rerouted my return line to accommodate the 8' reach of the Edge cords. The Edge flow sensor and cell comes with handy connector ports that you just plug the terminals on the cord into. It's a little puzzling why Circupool doesn't offer an similarly connection-terminal equipped extension cord as an option - it would seem to make to sense to me and open up the usage to many who's equipment is situated away from the electric source. The unit functions perfectly so far, we'll see how long the 7 year limited warranty cell lasts, but that is a hefty warranty for this type of product. The electronics are touted as advanced technology and the compact power box reflects that claim. No more interface with the automation display, but also, no more General Fault indications! I highly recommend this easily available product as a much-needed alternative to the Big 3 systems and their limited distribution policies. If this works out, I'll be back for the Ph controller! Summary: 4 stars for a limited length power cord that should be an easy fix. 5 stars for the excellent customer support and otherwise product design, which includes a see-through cell and cell-cleaning cap.

Questions From Customers
Q:
What is the difference between the CircuPool EDGE-40 or the CircuPool RJ-45? I have a 26,000 gal in ground salt water pool with a Pentair IC40 that is fast approaching its life expectancy and would like to replace it with a quality product that will last longer and provide better service.

I know the Core is designed to be plugged into an outlet. Where I am mounting my Edge40 I have 120V off the same power source as the pump, any disadvantage to not using 220V off the pump breaker? Its a variable speed pump and I never turn the breaker off anyway
