FAQ

Q: If using a variable speed pump which uses its on control board, how does the Salt generator come on and detect that the pump is on if it is connected to an external GFCI outlet?

Asked by: FK - 12/29/2019
A: The system uses a flow switch to activate itself and deactivate itself depending on when your pump is programmed to start/stop. This is standard for most newer salt chlorine generators.

Q: 1. I have a pool of about 20,000 gallons. Is it possible to use the CircuPool CORE-35 Salt Chlorine Generator system? 2. How often and how to clean the CircuPool CORE-35 Salt Chlorine Generator?

Asked by: Nick - 4/22/2019
A: I put one on a similar size pool and its working great. I would say it needs cleaning once ever 6-8 weeks or so? But it depends on water chemistry.

Q: Do you have the 1.5” reducers? My lines are 1.5”

Asked by: Shannon - 1/19/2020
A: That is something you would want to get at the hardware store - its an off-the-shelf item and very cheap.

Q: How long is power chord? Also my unit comes out of the pool heater and runs parallel to ground. Will I need to raise this line to install . I can send pics if needed. Pool is 46k gallons. in ground

Asked by: Doug Chapin - 3/4/2020
A: The power cord is about 6ft, and can easily be extended if needed. I would estimate needing about 3-4" of space below the piping for the tail of this unit to extend down, so if your return pipe is sitting right on the ground you'd want to lift it just a bit.

Q: Can the CORE35 be used for an above ground pool?

Asked by: Chris - 5/27/2019
A: Yes, the CORE models are used frequently on above ground pools. The only difference for some people is your plumbing size, which can be adapted if needed with standard PVC adapter fittings from your local hardware store.

Q: Where is the installation manual for this? I run my pump 24/7. Can i hardwire so that there is power to the unit only when the pump is on? Amanda

Asked by: Amanda - 6/29/2019
A: Yes, you can choose to hardwire it so that it is only powered when the pump is. The manual is linked here: https://www.circupool.com/assets/doc/CircuPool-CORE-Manual.pdf

Q: Is a bypass fitting available for this unit? If not, can I build my own using the male ends from standard 2" pvc unions?

Asked by: Marc - 12/30/2019
A: Yes there is a cap that you can order that lets you take out the cell cartridge and control head. The threads on the male housing unions for the plumbing isn't likely to have an off-the-shelf match.

Q: What are the main differences between the RJ-30 Plus and Core-35 (aside from size and warranty)?

Asked by: Jason - 1/8/2020
A: Great question. The CORE is the most compact, easy to use, & easy to install system with more advanced electronics and sensors. Its control module, cell, and flow switch are all integrated into a single unit (which you can take apart easily for service or replacement). The RJ models have will give you lots of power and lifespan (the two most important things) for the money, and have long been a customer favorite. Its controller hangs on the wall, and it does have lots of different settings and diagnostics. Its cell and controller get installed independently in the plumbing. Let us know if you have more questions or just call for faster service.
