No other salt chlorine system comes packed with features like the AutoPilot Total Control System. Maintaining your pool has never been easier! For pools up to 60,000 gallons.
Total Control systems measure chlorine (ORP) and pH, and actively make adjustments to keep your pool in perfect balance! There's no better way to make your pool as hands-off as possible. A must-have for vacation homes, condos, hotels, or other commercial properties.
The Pool Pilot Digital is a technologically advanced unit, with microprocessor controls, digital display of pool water temperature, current salt level, chlorine production level, soft-reverse cell cleaning cycle, and boost cycle. The easy-to-read digital readout on the control unit even tells you how much salt to add if the salinity level ever gets low enough. The Pool Pilot Digital has a patented temperature compensation feature that actually adjusts chlorine production according to the demands of the water temperature, and operates in water temperatures up to 104F. It has a built-in time clock to control your pool pump...all at the touch of a button.
General FAQ
Your pool’s pH is at the heart of your water balance and is key to the interaction between the other components of your water chemistry. The water’s pH can make your pool’s chlorine significantly less effective. It can cause itching or irritation for your swimmers, and can influence either etching of pool surfaces or deposits of calcium, scaling, or crystals on the pool surfaces and salt cells if it’s not kept on track.
Ideally, your pool’s pH should be kept between 7.4-7.6. Your pool’s pH can change quite rapidly, though, and with only weekly measurement and adjustment you spend a significant percentage of the time above or below the target pH. Weekly pH management is simply too infrequent.
We carry CO2 tanks, and you can also buy or rent a tank locally. To fill your tank, you have a lot of options ranging from hardware stores, sporting good stores, welding supply stores, restaurant supply stores (CO2 is used in soda fountains and beer tap systems), home brew supply stores, paintball supply stores, and more.
The CO2 gets absorbed into your pool water, forming "carbonic acid" to keep the pH balance in check. So you're not seeing CO2 bubbles coming out of your pool jets and immediately escaping the pool; rather, its getting dissolved into the water where it forms CH2O3.
This system actually has patented technology that allows for predictable CO2 usage. When sized right, refills are extremely infrequent - as little as once a swim season or even less. The manufacturer site gives pretty detailed information about CO2 use, you can see that here.

The Autopilot Digital Power Supply is a large moulded-plastic box with a backlit alpha-numeric VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) screen and keypad controls. It mounts on the wall (or nearby a post or support) by hanging the control box by a few keyholes on basic screws that have been secured in the wall according to the paper mounting template provided. The digital display screen shows the current time, the chosen percentage chlorine output, and temperature. The keypad controls allow you to enter the menu system, activate the boost (24 hours) or superboost (72 hours) mode. The menu system will display the current salinity, amount of salt needed to reach the ideal salinity level, and cell power diagnostics, Additional system programming is available to users who want to access more in-depth system settings. The Digital Power Supply can also control the circulation pump equipment.
The Autopilot Digital PPC-Series Electrolytic Cell is a part of a raised manifold plumbing system (see pictures). The salt cell contains built-in titanium electrode plates and detachable power supply cord. The salt cell has threaded connections on the inlet and outlet, which allow quick access for service or winter removal (if applicable). Included with the cell in the manifold plumbing is a strainer, to catch any impurities that may have made it past the filter, and a bypass flow regulator, to divert only a portion of the water coming from the pump to go through the salt cell. Autopilot claims that this increases the chlorination efficiency.
The Autopilot Digital PPC-Series comes with its plumbing manifold system, with Tri-Sensor, Bypass Valve, in-line strainer, cell cord, and instruction manual.
