The APEX P60 aftermarket replacement salt cell compatible with Pentair IntelliChlor® IC-60 models is a great alternative choice for your salt chlorinator system while replacing your old Pentair salt cell. The APEX P60 salt cell makes 2.4 lbs/day of chlorine. This APEX P60 cell has the same length and threads to ensure proper fit and easy replacement of an existing Pentair IntelliChlor IC60 cell. When replacing your original OEM IC60 Intellichlor salt cell, satisfaction is guaranteed.

The APEX P60 replacement cell comes with an onboard digital controller that allows you to adjust chlorine output in small increments, with a tap of a button, and displays the actual salinity in PPM! With This aftermarket replacement cell offers user-friendly controls and an economic price point.

    Guaranteed to work with:
  • Pentair IntelliChlor IC60
  • Pentair Intelli-Chlor 60,000 Gallons
  • All IntellChlor 520556 Power Centers
  • Item IDs: 521105

When replacing an OEM Pentair IC-60 cell, typical installation of the APEX P60 aftermarket replacement salt cells is easy. The plug-and-play replacement process simply involves unscrewing the existing cell from the plumbing, disconnecting it from the power center, and then reconnecting the APEX P60 cell in a similar fashion. Since it can utilize the existing connections for the Pentair IC-60, installation can usually be done in minutes without tools. The APEX P60 cell includes the power cable (standard 14') and extra unions compatible with the Intellichlor models.

Note: The aftermarket cell does not utilize a RS-485 or data connection for integration with automation systems like Pentair Intellitouch, Pentair Easy Touch®, Jandy® AquaLink®, Hayward® AquaLogic® and Hayward ProLogic®

The APEX P60 Cell is not manufactured, endorsed, or sold by Pentair. Neither APEX nor the P6 cell is affiliated with Pentair; the use of manufacturer names, product names, part numbers, or such trademarks herein are included for compatibility designations and informational purposes only.

Excellent Product
After using 3 Pentair salt cells in 6 summers, we decided to try this salt cell. The fit was perfect, and I like having the ability to increase the generation by 10% intervals. The cell is working great!

Working after I figured it out
After I figured out the the light means it is generating and not a problem, its working fine. I like being able to fine tune it and also to see the salt level.

Perfect fit
This fit right in to the plumbing and plugged right in to my power supply box on the wall. This took 10 minutes, and I paid exactly half of what the pool company wanted - GOOD DEAL...

So far, so good
I have used the Pentair salt cells for the entire 11 years that I’ve had a pool. The first one lasted 5 years but the last two only lasted 3 years, each. They are SO expensive so I decided to give the generic salt cell a try. Our pool was opened on May 3, 2021 and we are clear and producing free chlorine right now on May 13. The generic unit fit right into the housing for the Pentair. It was super easy to install & is working well. I’ll try to remember to do a follow-up review in a few years. I hope that we can get 5 years out of the generic salt cell.

Upgraded
I ordered this and got it the next day and installed it in a snap. Old one had to run at 100% now during august, new one cleared the pool up in a day and I had to turn it down because it was actually able to make too much chlorine. Great upgrade to the pool system

Questions From Customers

Q: Are the fittings the same size as the Pentair 521105?

Q: I have a Pentair sys with IC 40 and have read that Pentair says I can replace it with a IC 60 and set it at a lower setting and it will last longer. Can I use the CFICGEN60 to replace the IC 40 that is going bad the same way

Asked by: Clay - 4/27/2020
A: Yes, that's correct. Using a higher power salt cell will allow the system to work less hard on a daily basis so it can last longer, and also you'll be able to turn it up to make more chlorine more quickly should pool problems arise.

A: Yes, the cell will plug right into your current power center and connect directly to your existing plumbing fittings.

Q: do I need power supply w this?

Asked by: jeff - 5/9/2020
A: Yes this is meant to replace an existing cell, so you would just unplug the current cell and connect this cell's cord to the same place.

Q: Just opened pool and installed CFICGEN60. Is there any reason for concern that the generator light is flashing green? All other lights are green.

Asked by: Anne - 5/7/2020
A: On this model, the flashing light indicates that it is actively generating. No cause for concern.

Q: Can you replace the ichlor 30 with Aftermarket IC60?

Asked by: Alex - 6/26/2023
A: The tan power supply box that the ichlor30 uses is the same as all of the intellichlor cells, so if you got this 60k cell it would connect and work with that power supply. The main difference is that ichlor cells are shorter in length, so you would have to cut out what you have and glue this in. It does come with unions.

Q: We have a large pool and use ic 60 salt cell so can we get by with the I C 40?

Asked by: Linda Wood - 6/19/2022
A: Its almost never advisable to "downgrade" your salt chlorinator's capacity by installing a smaller cell. You can see more information about sizing here: https://www.discountsaltpool.com/what-size-salt-pool-system-is-right-for-me

The APEX P60 controls are mounted on top of the electrolytic cell (separately replaceable). It has a bright LED screen that that displays the actual measured salt levels, ten sanitizer output power levels, and LED indicator lights to display if there is an issue with the salt level, water flow, water temperature, or whether the cell requires checking or service. The P60 also includes onboard diagnostics. The controls also have a built-in mechanical flow switch that ensure sufficient water flow for chlorine generation. Under low water temperature conditions, the control's automatic shut-off feature protects the unit and prolongs cell life.
A special feature of the APEX P40 is that when replacement is needed in the future, its electrolytic cell is replaceable separate from the electronics; this can provide significant savings and can greatly add to the lifetime value of the APEX P-Series cells. The APEX P60 electrolytic cell is an inline opaque-plastic housing which contains built-in titanium electrode plates, top-mounted electronic controls, integrated flow switch, and built-in power supply cord. The APEX P60 salt cell has the same length and threads as the original OEM Pentair IntelliChlor IC60 to allow easy replacement and quick access for service or winter removal (if applicable). These threaded connections attach to the existing unions which are glued to the existing return-line PVC plumbing.
