The APEX P11 aftermarket replacement salt cell compatible with Pentair IntelliChlor® IC-40 models is a great alternative choice for your salt chlorinator system while replacing your old Pentair salt cell. The aftermarket replacement for IC-40 makes 0.8 lbs/day of chlorine. This APEX P11 cell has the same length and threads to ensure proper fit and easy replacement of an existing Pentair IntelliChlor IC-40 cell. When replacing your original OEM IC-40 Intellichlor salt cell, satisfaction is guaranteed.

Many users like the APEX P11 aftermarket replacement cell's onboard digital controller which allows you to adjust chlorine output with a tap of a button in small increments, and displays the actual salinity in PPM! This aftermarket replacement cell offers user-friendly controls and an economic price point.

Guaranteed to fit and work with:
  • Pentair IntelliChlor IC40
  • Pentair Intelli-Chlor 40,000 Gallons
  • All IntellChlor 520556 Power Centers
  • Item IDs: 520555, EC-520555

When replacing an OEM Pentair IC-40 cell, typical installation of the APEX P11 aftermarket replacement salt cells is easy. The plug-and-play replacement process simply involves unscrewing the existing cell from the plumbing, disconnecting it from the power center, and then reconnecting the APEX P11 cell in a similar fashion. Since it can utilize the existing connections for the Pentair IC-40, installation can usually be done in minutes without tools. The APEX P11 cell includes the power cable (standard 14') and extra unions compatible with the Intellichlor models.

Note: The aftermarket cell does not utilize a RS-485 or data connection for integration with automation systems like Pentair Intellitouch, Pentair Easy Touch®, Jandy® AquaLink®, Hayward® AquaLogic® and Hayward ProLogic®

The APEX P11 Cell is not manufactured, endorsed, or sold by Pentair. Neither APEX nor the P11 cell is affiliated with Pentair; the use of manufacturer names, product names, and part numbers are included for compatibility designations and informational purposes only.

Q: The generate light is flashing green. What does this mean? All other lights are sold green.

Asked by: beam - 6/12/2019
A: When the system is operational and connected to power, the "Generate" LED light will be lit solidly. During times that the system is currently generating chlorine, the "Generate" LED light blinks (this will be intermittently throughout the day unless you leave it at 100% output).

Q: does the cell still need to be cleaned and if so how often?

Asked by: Michael Parla - 11/15/2019
A: Yes, all salt cells need to be cleaned eventually. The frequency of cleaning for this cell should be just as much time as your original. The amount of time that actually takes depends on your water chemistry, and on average that could be once ever 6-8 weeks. The LED indicators let you know when though.
