Sizing

When replacing your AquaRite salt cell, ensure it is correctly sized for your pool. Proper sizing prevents the need for additional chlorine supplementation and extends the lifespan of the cell. Industry recommendations suggest using a salt cell with a maximum capacity of 1.5 to 2 times the actual pool size for optimal performance. The CircuPool GEN15+ is rated for pools up to 40,000 gallons.

Better than original mfg salt cell
I was somewhat concerned about size and compatibility with the original goldline control box. The new cell replaced a very seasoned T-15 cell and has been working flawlessly so far. An added bonus is the ability to see inside the cell and new plastic threaded connections that split in half.

Excellent
My pool store wanted my to buy the new clear version of the t cell 15 which was going to be over a thousand dollars... I bought my whole aqua rite 40 system for less than 900 maybe five or six years ago... so I just couldn't do it. I found this cell online and liked that it was clear so I tried it, and its been working perfectly for a couple months. I'm running my controller on a low output and easily keeping 2ppm free cl in the pool. The gen15+ cell feels like very high quality, and I'm very very glad that I took a chance to try something different.

A: The CircuPool® CircuPool GEN15+ Aftermarket Replacement Cell is a T-15 class replacement salt cell rated for 40,000 gallons capacity. It will certainly handle your 15-16,000 gallon pool, but will require that you change the cell type setting on your control module to T-15.

Q: Why use stabilizer with salt system?

A: Salt systems produce chlorine for sanitizing pool water. For outdoor pools, Cyanuric Acid, aka Stabilizer, is added to the water to shield the chlorine from degradation by the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Cyanuric acid (CYA) should be maintained between 30 and 50 ppm. Increasing levels of CYA will increase protection from the sun until that protection levels out at 50 ppm. So above 50 ppm, the water gains no further protection from the sun, but the CYA will increasingly reduce the effectiveness of your chlorine causing your pool to require ever greater chlorine production. Since the only way to remove CYA from water is to partially drain and refill, it is important to avoid adding stabilized products to your pool unless you are below the 30 ppm threshold.

A: The Hayward OmniLogic does not directly control salt cells. Rather, it controls saltwater chlorination systems. So, the real question is whether your Control Module and this Replacement Cell are compatible.

Q: I have Hayward aqua rite goldline with 940 cell T-15, will Circupool GEN15+ work.

A: The 940 cell, as you note, is a T-15 cell although it is also an extended life cell.
The CircuPool® CircuPool GEN15+ Aftermarket Replacement Cell will fit and operate correctly, but will not provide the extended lifespan of a 940 cell.

The CircuPool GEN15+ electrolytic cell is an inline clear plastic housing which contains built-in titanium electrode plates and built-in power supply cord. The salt cell has matching threaded connections to the Hayward AquaRite and more (see description), which allow quick access for service or winter removal (if applicable). The threaded connections attach to the existing unions which are glued to the existing return-line PVC plumbing.
Manufacturer 4 Year Limited Warranty for residential use. Most manufacturer chlorine generator warranties are pro-rated. All warranties offered are provided by the relative manufacturer and are limited to the terms and proration they provide.
