Excellent product!
Had this installed when I switched over from Chlorine to Ionization in 2005. No regrets. Pool water is sparkling, easy to adjust and test. You still need chlorine but only about one 3 tab a week for a 33,000 gal. pool. You use non-chlorine shock so you can swim in the pool 15-30 minutes after shocking. You need to shock the pool about half as much as a chlorine pool. The biggest benefit is the water itself. No more harsh chlorine feel when you get out. It's like swimming in bottled water. The downside is that local pool stores know little or nothing about ionization. Most don't even know how to test for it. Fortunately it comes with a great test kit and the manufacture is very responsive to questions and help. If you install this system you'll never go back to chlorine or salt.

No more algae!
Have had bad algae issues for years. After a week running, adjusting the levels, no new algae growth, no shock, no hassle. I'm shocked how well it's working.

…reduces chlorine cost…
Easy to set up. We used another one for over 20 years before the unit went out. It reduces the chlorine cost for the year and the water stays clear.

Questions From Customers

Q: Is this compatible with an existing salt pool system?

Asked by: Crystal - 4/24/2023
A: According to the manufacturer, if the pool was using chlorine, it is all right to go ahead and install the MineralPURE, as the two work together fine. Remember that a salt pool is just a pool that uses an electronic chlorine generator. In fact, the manufacturer states that some chlorine should be in the pool until the system takes over. If used in tandem, be sure lower the chlorine generator output as needed.

However, if you are aiming to have a complete chlorine-free alternative pool system (suggested to be combined with an ozone generator) and will be removing the chlorine generator, the manufacturer recommends the water should be drained at least 3/4 of the way and refilled with new water to lower the water's TDS as much as possible.

Q: How long should the ionizer electrode plates last and how do you know when to replace them?

Asked by: Crystal - 4/24/2023
A: According to the manufactureer, MineralPURE Ionizer should last about 1-5 years depending on your pool size, length of swimming season, water temperature and how well the water was balanced (ion level, pH, etc.).

Regarding end of life, it may be time to replace them if the LCD display reads a warning to "Check Electrodes". However, the the electrodes should be inspected or cleaned first. If after inspecting, the electrodes appear thin and worn out, they will need to be replaced.

Q: I have the Clearwater MineralPURE RC-50 scaleblaster. I just had the pool redone and they have installed a clearblue Chlorinator. Is it good to use the chlorinator with the ionizer?

Asked by: Fanny - 3/9/2024
A: If you are not intending to operate a chlorine-free pool, then you can certainly combine a saltwater chlorinator with the Clearwater RC-50 Pool Ionization System with ScaleBlaster.
