This thing actually works.
I was skeptical about this product. I was wrong. Haven't even needed to plug it in. It came charged, I put it in the pool 5 min out of the box, and it's been running nonstop for weeks now. There was one cloudy day where it was blinking low battery, I got up in the AM and it was still showing low battery but was not running. I sat and watched it with my morning cup of coffee and was delighted to see that in about 5 min of good sunlight, it switched back to solid green and was running again. That was over a week ago. Its like the Energizer Bunny. Also, by total accident, got this in the pool the day before all the helicopter seed pods start coming down in my area. This guy made short work of it. My first impressions of the remote control are not good. I still need to goof with it, but the 1st impressions are the remote-control needs a bit of work. The warm season has not started yet, but its looking good as the pool season starts. It will occasionally nose into the skimmer and get kind of hung there. it's not a suction thing, I have seen it cruse right by the skimmer. It has to hit it just right to get stuck. I also have seen it reverse direction and spin before too. So not sure why it can't back itself out of the skimmer opening, but it doesn't happen a lot. There are a few posted solutions out there, but for this kind of scratch, it would have been nice if one of them was in the box.

Does a decent job
It randomly goes around the pool and sun shelf. It does pick up items but the pool skimmer still gets the majority of the trash.

Huge time saber
This solar skimmer does a beautiful job clearing the surface of the waterIt gets slow when the battery's down but then the sun comes out and it kicks back up againClear the surface of the pool in a matter of hours
